Oh Monday how I love you! Kids are back at school, hubby has a day off so I can get some help with Bub and just get stuff done. Love when you just have those days where feel like you’ve been productive and get to your never ending to do list! Is your Monday treating you well? Xx
In #1984 #Prince’s sixth studio album and soundtrack to his movie “#PurpleRain” was released. Prince wrote all of the songs on the album, some with the input of fellow band members. It sold 1.5 million in its debut week and spent 24 consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard album charts (August 4, 1984 to January 18, 1985) becoming one of the top soundtracks ever, selling more than 20 million copies worldwide. Prince won two #GrammyAwards in 1985 for Purple Rain, for Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group and Best Album of Original Score Written for a Motion Picture or TV Special, and the album was nominated for Album of the Year. Prince won a third #Grammy that year for Best R&B Song (songwriter) for Chaka Khan's cover of "I Feel for You". Kevin Abstract Talks Weekly Therapy With Shia LaBeouf, Teases New Brockhampton Music
Brockhampton frontman Kevin Abstractopened up to playwright Jeremy O'Harris in GQ's Pride-themed digital cover story. In the in-depth Q&A published June 24, Abstract elaborated on the hip-hop boy band's upcoming album and joining a weekly therapy group with Shia LaBeouf.
"Every Friday at my house, we do this thing called Friday therapy. I invite a bunch of artists from L.A., and we sit in my kitchen," said Abstract, whose gatherings have amassed up to 40 people. "One by one, we go in a circle and say what our week looked like. It's taught me a lot."
LaBeouf guides the weekly sessions, which explore issues faced by artists living in Los Angeles. "[LaBeouf is] 10 years older than me, so the advice he has is fucking crazy," said Abstract. "It's really healthy to have someone like that in my life." The rapper, who recently released his solo EP ARIZONA BABY, also credited LaBeouf for sparking his interest in acting.
The 22-year-old also teased a new Brockhampton project (a summer "feel-good" album, according to Abstract). While the group isn't formally living together anymore, this doesn't mean they aren't working together as closely. "We have this house called the Creative House, which is turning into the Brockhampton house all over again," said Abstract.
