after spending some time in the #siliconvalley working/visiting relatives and not investing time in my physical nor mental health, I figured it was time for a change. went on a 3 mile run towards the bay 30 minutes before sunset, and though the streets were a lot emptier than LA’s, it was somewhat calming. my phone was at a staggering 6% by the time I reached the bay trail but was definitely a therapeutic night to remember :) #fitness#collegelife
They say it takes a village to raise a child, we'll it also takes a village to become a graduate in college. I wouldn't have been able to reach this status in life without these people you see in the photos. The only ones missing in pictures is my Dad and and my grandfather.
Growing up I knew my parents wanted me to go into higher education because neither one went to school to get their B.A.s. I personally was thinking about enrolling into a Trade school and possibly pursue modeling until my Godmother Jolie Gray told my Mom that I should apply to Upward Bound at PGCC. This is where I was convinced to give traditional College/University a try. They also helped me with finding scholarships and grants. I ended up liking it and continued my education at UMBC which both Upward Bound and PGCC introduced me to the University. The moment I stepped on the campus, I felt at home and was the place to be.
While at UMBC, I went back and forth with having a major and minor while making sure I received some type of document that said I studied English. By the end of my 2nd year at UMBC, I was looking at different degree and certification programs and learned about the Developmental Psychology Cencentration and decided I wanted to pursue that along with completing my English degree. But when I talked to an advisor, they said that I had to get a degree in Psychology first. After that talk I added Psychology back to a major and started taking classes for the concentration.
With the help from my parents, grandparents, and Logan, I can say I'm a proud UMBC graduate while remaining debt free and as a First Generation Graduate 😁 I want to thank you all for helping throughout my college years❤
My grandmother said her name should be placed on one of my degrees 😭
