Prepping for our trip and I had to mix up a blend for the plane! I love flying and so does Bubs, but flying 30 weeks pregnant with a toddler is new territory for us! Thankfully @rachelfaithh will be there and Bubs can't get enough of his "Ay-Ay" .
For this calming blend, which smells SO YUMMY, I put 20 drops valor and 15 drops Stressaway and topped with grape seed oil. Y'all this is a dream in a bottle ♥️
My first experience with an IG initiated pop up restaurant in Chicago was a mixed bag.
Admittedly, @aarooshi_rai_kumar and I showed up already fairly hungry to Wazwan Supper Club's (@wazwansupperclub) 2 week pop up, but it took an hour for the food to arrive after we were seated. I've only waited upwards of an hour in Chicago at two places -- Au Cheval and Hi Five Ramen -- so those are very high bars to beat (the food has to be so good that you forget the wait afterwards).
And obviously, Wazwan has a ways to go before being in the same sentence as some of the iconic spots in the city, but the food was adventurous and interesting. A few more tweaks and I feel they would have some bonafide hits on their hands.
The wings were too small and got overcooked easily, but I could dig the sauce on more meatier drumsticks. I've never had brisket with Indian spices and I've always wanted to try some good ol' Indian bbq when I finally have some space for a grill. The meat wasn't the most tender but I really liked the charred ends and the sauce on the side. Maybe we'll try the actual supper club, which is likely to be a better planned and executed experience.
