The last few days haven’t really gone as planned (and let’s be real, life never really goes according to the plan that you want). Sunday night I was playing volleyball with some friends and took a pretty mean spike to the face which caused a slight concussion. I had planned on doing a TON of editing Monday and Tuesday before some commercial shoots took over the rest of the week. Well, instead of grinding out some edits, I spent the days chilling at home and not really doing very much. It was kind of a bummer. Now it’s Thursday, I’m feeling a bit better (but still groggy and probably shouldn’t be scrolling as much as I am) and three shoots of four are in the bag. // One other thing I wanted to chat about real fast was this new rig I got to hold my camera when doing smaller hikes. This thing makes doing small hikes with your DSLR soooo much easier and takes off a ton of pressure from your neck. And that last picture looks like I’m missing a leg 😂 thanks for the snaps @dianna_shenk@cotton_carrier#ad#harnessyourphotography
Part of me always wishes that my gifts wasn’t in taking pictures, and instead creating music. I love listening to music, and singing along in the shower and the car. I have so much respect for musicians and songwriters that put themselves out there, opening up the book that is their life to anyone that will listen. There’s something so vulnerable about that to me. Can you imagine writing a song about heartbreak or a loss? Six months later that song is played on every radio station in the united states? Then when you go on tour, you then have to play that song? I can’t even imagine going through that. There is something SO special about being willing to open up to the world about the pain in your life // Along with that, I wish I wrote poetry. I know that I should probably start reading poetry at some point, if I ever want to write it. I have a list on my phone of famous poets that I want to dig into, I just haven’t made the time yet.
