How to get in the pose:
โ–ช๏ธStart in Downward Facing Dog.
โ–ช๏ธInhale raise the right leg behind you and then exhale as you step the right foot forward between your hands.
โ–ช๏ธCheck that the right knee is aligned above the right ankle.
โ–ช๏ธGround through the feet, pull your lower abs in as you exhale, then inhale sweeping your arms out and up, palms facing towards each other
โ–ช๏ธBend your back knee a little, lengthen your tailbone down towards the floor, then extend through the back leg, opening and stretching the sole of the foot.
โ–ช๏ธOpen your chest and draw your front ribs down into your torso.
โ–ช๏ธStay for five breaths.
โ–ช๏ธBring your hands onto the floor by your right foot as you exhale.
โ–ช๏ธStep your right foot back into a Downward Facing Dog.
โ–ช๏ธRepeat with the left foot coming forward.

flexibilitychallenge Beginners handstand press tutorial. ๐Ÿคธโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Before you begin there are a few pre requisites for the handstand press.

The strength move / pressing skill are shown in this tutorial however there are certain flexibility requirements.

They are; - You must be able to put your palms on the floor with straight legs.
- You must have decent overhead shoulder flexibility. (Meaning you can hold your arms overhead without your rib cage opening or your elbows bending). Donโ€™t worry if you donโ€™t YET have the flexibility.

In our stretch plan we cover the flexibility requirements needed for the handstand press. (Link in Bio). If youโ€™re already following the plan you just need to add in these strength / skill moves alongside your plan.

When it comes to mastering this move flexibility is absolutely essential. Once you have the flexibility itโ€™s simply a case of learning the right direction.
